Chopping my locks for a cause
I did a thing today... I chopped the majority of my hair off. Bonus: I did it for a good cause.
I’ve been contemplating cutting it considerably shorter for quite a while, but when I recently learnt about The Little Princess Trust it was the last little push of motivation I needed to transition from just thinking about it to actually doing it. Riddle me this: why are we so damn attached to hair? When I told some people of my plans you would have thought I told them I was moving back to New Zealand and unlikely to ever see them again... the distress!
The Little Princess Trust makes and provides (free of charge) real hair wigs to children who have lost their own to cancer treatment and other illnesses. Good quality wigs for children are much harder to come by and much more limited than those for adults. When you think about the fact that hair otherwise just goes straight into the bin, and there are people out there who would so greatly benefit from it, there’s really no reason not to! Lots of celebs are donating their tresses to the Trust too, helping raise awareness. For anyone devastated by Harry Styles' chop last year, rest assured it was for a good cause!
Anyway, that’s what I did today, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Here's a before and after...
